The Wonderful Icon
If you always wanted to be a Windows power-user without knowing the nitty-gritty command-line bonanza, you might find this super-cool power-tool use-full.
How cool you say? The name says it all.
In that sense, my uber-fave Windows power-tool is called “The Wonderful Icon” by Eric Heimburg.
With this installed, I am able to enhance my Windows environment such as:
- assign special hotkeys:
- on/off window toggling to ‘always on top’
- hardware-input emulation
- hide/unhide window with just one key
- minimize a window to taskbar by just right-clicking its minimize button.
- maximize a window vertically by right-clicking its maximize button.
- alter the listing of files on Windows Desktop:
- List-style (another screenshot)
- List-style with Shadow
- Column-list – which allows you to change the Sort By Desktop menu options.
WANT MORE?? Here's a complete listing of all WONDERFUL configurations you can play with. You'll also find my WonderfulIcon Settings below which I have been using for almost 6 years as now.
Best of all, this super-tinie-winie software is free! I hope the author gets financial support to improve it further. Kudos to you Eric, wherever you are!
